Bluegill Fly Fishing Without a Fly Rod - it Can Be Done, and it is a Blast

The secret that fly fisherman don't want people to know is that you can fish with flies with CBS Children's Film Festival regular spinning outfit. Why would fly fisherman not want you to know this? Well, purchasing structured settlement you will easily be able to out fish them hands down with the casting ability of a spinning reel, and they don't want to get shown up by someone not using a fly rod.

The setup for fishing with flies for bluegill without a fly rod is very simple, but often overlooked by fisherman set in their ways. Firstly, you should have a nice ultra light fishing rod with 4lb test or lighter spooled on the reel. Then you will need a small bobber. It could be clear, but that is not necessary. Tie on the bobber, and about 15-20 inches down from the bobber, tie on a fly. These are bluegill, so there is no need to match the hatch. Anything that they can fit in their mouths, they will eat. So just make sure the size is not too big 2,4,6s, and not too small 28s(will get stuck in their throats).

You can use dry flies, wet flies, or, my favorite- nymphs. Underwater nymphs for bluegill is perhaps the deadliest bait available besides a maggot. However, with a maggot you can't cast as far, and you will get stripped all day long. A fly can't be stolen and you can cast it anywhere you can get your bobber. Slowly reeling in the bobber, when you are using a nymph or a dry fly will drive bluegill nuts, they will literally swim around with insanity when they know something isn't right, but they just can't resist your offering.

Get some squidoo.com/sunfishfishingbluegill flies for fly fishing for some bluegill now, you will catch more fish than you ever have in your life. But you may want to go when no one is around, because if they see you, they will absolutely ask you what you're using, and your secret will be out. Or you can just run :O. Rip some lip.
